Dead Battery

After being gone for three weeks around Christmas time I come back to find a battery that will barely make the heater blower creak around, let alone charge up and start the engine. I didn't expect much out of the $40 cheapo I had in there, but I was waiting for it to die before I replaced it with something better. It turns out I only had to wait about a year and a half. Not only was the battery completely dead, but it destroyed my battery cables to the point that I had to unbolt the positive cable at the starter just to get the battery out of the engine bay. So I got myself a new Optima red top at Renegade Inc. Off Road & Customs in Bozeman and was back in business in no time. And to top it all off the new battery solved all the weird sparking problems I used to have whenever I disconnected a battery terminal.
